Sara Martin Named Lansing USD 469 Elementary Teacher of the Year

Lansing USD 469 is proud to recognize Sara Martin as the district’s 2026 Elementary Teacher of the Year.

Sara is a 5th grade teacher and team lead at Lansing Intermediate School, where she has made a meaningful impact on students, staff, and the school community for more than 15 years. She is known for her strong leadership, her ability to bring people together, and her unwavering commitment to doing what is best for students.

In the classroom, Sara creates an environment where students feel valued, supported, and challenged. She balances high expectations with genuine care, helping students grow both academically and socially. She is especially known for her work supporting students who may face challenges, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed.

As a leader, Sara is a trusted colleague and someone who listens, supports, and steps in whenever needed. Her work on both the Building Leadership Team and District Leadership Team reflects her commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration.

Sara will be recognized at the Lansing Educational Foundation (LEF) Honors Breakfast on May 1 and will receive a $250 grant from LEF, along with four complimentary tickets to the event.
