Brandi Lynn, 2nd Grade Teacher

Question: How long have you worked in Lansing USD 469?

Answer: This is my 27th year in the district.

Question: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and the role you have within the school district?

Answer: I taught 4th grade my first 15 years in the district. Since then, I have been teaching 2nd and 3rd grade.

Question: What do you enjoy most about your role and the work you do in the school district?

Answer: All the relationships I have made over the years with students and colleagues is what I have enjoyed most during my time in Lansing. I have worked with amazing colleagues over the years.

Question: When you're not working, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?

Answer: When I am not working, I enjoy spending time baking, reading, gardening, and spending time with my family. I am always their biggest supporter! My daughter works for KSDE and so education is discussed a lot at the dinner table. My oldest son is a senior in electrical engineering at K-State and my youngest is a sophomore at Tonganoxie.

Question: What is something unusual about you that most people don't know?

Answer: I married my high school sweetheart. He took a city girl and introduced me to country living. We built a house on 10 acres in Tonganoxie. Our kids have been active 4H members and we currently have a small herd of cattle. I must admit I love the arrival of baby calves in the spring time!

Question: Could you share a particularly heartwarming or memorable experience you've had while working with students or colleagues?

Answer: My fondest memories go back to when I started at Lansing teaching 4th grade. I taught with Connie Evans, Barb Munsterman, Priscilla LoPresti, and Carol Caplinger. They took me under their wing and taught me everything I needed to know. I soaked in all of their wisdom! I will always appreciate their support and cherish the friendships that were made.
