Lansing USD 469 is proud to recognize Emerald Peters and Becky Wecas as this month’s Staff Members of the Month for their exceptional commitment to supporting both staff and student well-being at Lansing Middle School.
Earlier this semester, Emerald and Becky were invited to serve as guest speakers for the district’s First-Year Teacher meeting. Going above and beyond their regular responsibilities, they dedicated time outside of the school day to design and deliver a meaningful session centered on self-care and mental health. Their presentation included engaging activities and practical resources that encouraged new teachers to reflect, recharge, and prioritize their own well-being.
Beyond this impactful experience, Emerald and Becky consistently demonstrate strong leadership and care within their building. They are known for supporting their colleagues, contributing to a positive school climate, and promoting kindness throughout Lansing Middle School. Their willingness to step up and support others, whether students or staff, makes a lasting difference in their school community.
