Mattingly Named Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association Administrator of the Year

Lansing USD 469 is proud to share that our High School Activities Director Gary Mattingly has been named the Administrator of the Year by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association (KWCA).

The award is especially meaningful, as recipients are nominated by wrestling coaches from across the state and selected by the KWCA board.

Mr. Mattingly has played a key role in the continued success of Lansing High School’s wrestling program. Through his leadership, both the boys’ and girls’ programs have expanded and thrived, supported by the resources and encouragement needed to compete at a high level.

“Gary supports coaches and athletes in a way that creates a positive environment for our programs to succeed and keep improving,” said LHS Head Wrestling Coach Paul Hansen.

His impact was also evident in Lansing’s recent hosting of the 5A East Regional Wrestling Tournament, where Mattingly led the coordination of the event. The tournament was widely recognized as a first-class experience, setting a high standard for future regional competitions across Kansas.

Mr. Mattingly’s recognition highlights his commitment to excellence, not only in athletics but in creating opportunities for student success both on and off the mat.

Congratulations, Mr. Mattingly!
