April is recognized as the Month of the Military Child, a time dedicated to honoring and celebrating military-connected children for their service, commitment, and sacrifice. These students play an important role in supporting their families and our nation, often navigating unique challenges such as frequent moves, new schools, and time apart from loved ones.
At Lansing USD 469, we are proud to recognize and support our military families throughout the month. As part of this celebration, students and staff are encouraged to wear purple every Friday in April. Purple represents all branches of the military and is a visible way to show appreciation for the strength and resilience of military children.
Month of the Military Child serves as a reminder of the important role these students play in our community and the bright futures they represent. It also reflects a continued commitment to ensuring all students feel supported, valued, and connected.
