March is Youth Art Month, a national celebration that highlights the importance of visual arts education and recognizes the creativity of young artists. Lansing art teachers are joining the celebration by sharing some of the incredible artwork being created in our classrooms.
At Lansing Elementary School, art teacher Libby Stevenson is showcasing student work on a special bulletin board honoring Youth Art Month. The display features pieces created by students using a variety of artistic techniques and materials.
Among the featured artwork:
“Rosa Parks” – A mixed media collage created by 4th grader Evelyn Fu, honoring the civil rights leader through layered textures and materials.
“Sunflower Field” – A found object collage created by kindergarten students Logan Opat, Zacharia Perry, Abel Smith, and Ryder Behney, demonstrating creativity through the use of everyday materials.
“Leavenworth” – A drawing by 3rd grader Nathan Cuneo, capturing a local scene through careful observation and artistic expression.
Youth Art Month provides an opportunity to recognize the creativity and hard work of student artists while highlighting the value of arts education in developing imagination, problem-solving skills, and self-expression.
Thank you to our talented Lansing students and dedicated art teachers for sharing their creativity with our school community!
