Lansing High School Announces February Coaches Club Athletes of the Month

Lansing High School is proud to recognize its February Coaches Club Athletes of the Month, honoring student-athletes who demonstrated exceptional performance and dedication in competition.

Each month, in-season head coaches nominate athletes who have had standout performances. The nominations are then reviewed and voted on by the high school coaching staff to select the monthly honorees.

For February, the Lansing High School coaches selected Riley Dilka and Baylee Baragary for their outstanding accomplishments on the wrestling mat.

Boys Athlete of the Month

Riley Dilka- Wrestling

Riley Dilka had an impressive postseason, helping lead the Lions wrestling team through regional and state competition. At the KSHSAA 5A East Boys Regional, Riley placed 2nd, going 3–1 and scoring 23 team points, including two falls.

He continued his strong performance at the KSHSAA 5A Boys State Tournament, where he earned a 4th-place finish while adding 16 team points with two more falls.

Riley finished the season with an outstanding 32–10 record, with 23 of his wins coming by fall. Despite missing much of January, he still contributed 180 team points, the third-highest total on the team.

Girls Athlete of the Month

Baylee Baragary- Wrestling

Baylee Baragary delivered another historic season for Lansing girls wrestling. At the KSHSAA 5A East Girls Regional, she placed 4th, going 3-2 while scoring 16 team points, including two falls.
