Today, Lansing Middle School is partnering with The Sunflower House to provide important cyber safety training for our students and families.
Throughout the school day, LMS students will participate in age-appropriate sessions focused on keeping kids safe online. These presentations address current digital trends and provide practical tools to help students navigate social media, gaming platforms, apps, and other online spaces safely.
Topics include:
Online and social media safety
Gaming and app awareness
AI and current online trends
Scams and online exploitation
Mental health awareness and how to get help
Reporting cyber-crimes and staying safe online
Guardians are also invited to join a virtual session tonight at 6:30 p.m. This guardian-only presentation will include deeper discussion about online risks, trends, and ways families can support safe technology use at home.
Because some of the content is more mature, guardians are encouraged to participate from a private space in their home.
The virtual link will be shared with guardians later today.
We appreciate our partnership with The Sunflower House, whose mission is to help prevent the abuse and exploitation of children and youth through education and community outreach.
