Read Across America Week is Coming!

Students at Lansing Early Childhood Center enjoyed a memorable Read Across America Week, filled with stories, special visitors, and a shared love of reading.

Throughout the week, classrooms welcomed a variety of guest readers who helped bring books to life for students. The center was especially excited to host local authors Haley Archer and Chrissy Stewart, who talked with students about their journeys as authors and illustrators. They shared their books and gave students a glimpse into how stories and illustrations are created.

Thanks to grant funding from the Lansing Educational Foundation (LEF), students also had the opportunity to hear from author Alastair Heim, who visited to share his book How the Grinch Lost Christmas.

Families, district employees, and even the Lansing Lion visited classrooms to read with students. Their time helped make the week especially meaningful for Lansing’s youngest learners.

A special thank you goes out to all of the guest readers who volunteered their time to read with students and celebrate the joy of books. Their participation helped make Read Across America Week a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved.
