Lansing High School Students Earn 1st Place Overall at UKC Math Competition

Lansing High School students demonstrated outstanding problem-solving skills and teamwork at the UKC Math Competition on March 3, earning 1st Place Overall among participating schools.

Students competed in a variety of math categories, showcasing their strengths across multiple levels of coursework. Several Lansing teams earned top honors in their respective divisions:

  • Algebra II- 1st Place:
    Carson Ellington, Avery Conley, and Laney Chastain

  • Pre-Calculus/Advanced Algebra- 1st Place:
    Tobias Yoakam, Rachel Dowty, and Shane Ziolkowski

  • Calculus- 2nd Place:
    Christopher Klingman, Nathan Platt, and Nathan Duckworth

  • Statistics- 3rd Place
    Elizabeth Tanner, Jadyn Bollin, and Katie Croley

Additional students represented Lansing High School in the Algebra I and Geometry divisions, including Addyson Fisher, Anthony Wahlberg, Simon Tanner, Jason Duncan, Abigail Mashburn, and Jared Wangsgaard.

The competition provided students the opportunity to apply critical thinking skills, collaborate with peers, and compete alongside other talented mathematicians from across the region.
