Lansing Forensics Team Earns State Qualifications at Shawnee Heights Season Opener

The Lansing High School Forensics Team kicked off its season in impressive fashion this weekend at the Shawnee Heights Season Opener, earning multiple awards and several state qualifications. The team’s strong showing highlights the hard work of Lansing students as they begin the competitive season.

Several students stood out with top finishes across a variety of speaking and performance events:

  • Eliana Silva, a freshman novice, had an exceptional weekend as a triple finalist:

    • Humorous Interpretation – 2nd Place (State Qualified)

    • Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking – 4th Place

    • Impromptu Speaking – 2nd Place (State Qualified)

  • Christopher Chocon-Andrade

    • Original Oration – 6th Place

  • Maddie Huhn

    • Informative Speaking – 5th Place

    • Student Congress – 6th Place

  • Chinwendu Njoku

    • Informative Speaking – 1st Place (State Qualified)

    • International Extemporaneous Speaking – 4th Place
