Lansing Third Grader Shines as Junior Olympian Hopeful in Fencing

Lansing Elementary School third grader June Yingling is making a name for herself on a national stage, and in her classroom.

June is a Junior Olympian hopeful in fencing, traveling across the country to compete in high-level tournaments. Her hard work has paid off, with first- and second-place finishes in many competitions across the United States. Most recently, June competed in a national fencing tournament in Washington, D.C., where she placed an impressive 6th out of 28 participants.

While her athletic achievements are remarkable, June’s teacher, Ms. Jeffers, is just as proud of who she is at school each day. In the classroom, June consistently demonstrates kindness and leadership. When she notices a classmate struggling, she doesn’t hesitate to ask how she can help, setting a positive example for her peers.

June’s determination, sportsmanship, and willingness to support others make her a standout student both on the fencing strip and in the classroom. Lansing Elementary is proud to celebrate her accomplishments and cheer her on as she continues pursuing her goals.
