Question: How long have you worked in Lansing USD469?
Answer: 21 months
Question: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and the role you have within the school district?
Answer: I perform preventative maintenance and repair of district facilities. This includes, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
Question: What do you enjoy most about your role and the work you do in the school district?
Answer: I enjoy a good puzzle. So when I find an issue that requires a little careful thought,I find it an exciting challenge in diagnosing and resolving unique repairs.
Question: When you're not working, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?
Answer: I have been motorcycle enthusiast from many years. As such, spending time alone on the open road is where I find the most peace and enjoyment. It provides me the opportunity to view our state and country, as well as meet numerous new people.
Question: What is something unusual about you that most people don't know?
Answer: I hold a M.Ed from Rockhurst University and was certified to teach in Missouri for 4 years.
Question: Could you share a particularly heartwarming or memorable experience you've had while working with students or colleagues?
Answer: Most recently, I had a young lady at the LES stop me while I was working, to inform me I "Looked Like The Lorax!" At first, I did not know how to take this comparison, but after a moment of thought came to the realization that I reminded this child of a beloved character who she found comforting. That is a true compliment.
Question: What piece of advice would you like to offer to students to help them succeed and make the most of their educational journey?
Answer: While thinking and studying is important, as many will find in university or other schools, there is as much to learn in doing and being directly involved in matters outside the classroom. In this way, the student learns to fuse theory and actual application of knowledge.
