For more than five years, Giving the Basics has been a consistent and valued partner of Lansing USD469, donating essential hygiene products on a monthly basis to support students and families in need.
These donations are housed at Lansing Intermediate School within the district’s clothing closet and are available to students across the district. Access to basic hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and deodorant helps remove barriers to learning and supports students’ health, confidence, and overall well-being.
Giving the Basics is a Kansas City-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing dignity through access to basic hygiene products. Their long-standing partnership with Lansing Schools has made a meaningful difference for countless students and families over the years.
Community Night with the KC Mavericks: January 23
Giving the Basics is also partnering with the Kansas City Mavericks this January for a special Community Night event that supports local families.

Impact: $10 from every ticket purchased through the Giving the Basics link will be donated directly to the organization
Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring hygiene items to donate. Small items can make a big difference for families in our community.
For those unable to attend, Giving the Basics is also accepting online donations as part of this month’s partnership, with a goal of raising $2,000 to continue providing essential hygiene supplies. Donors will be entered for a chance to win Kansas City Mavericks prizes.
