LMS Students - Career Presentations

Every Friday at Lansing Middle School, students are getting a unique opportunity to explore the world beyond the classroom through Career Fair Presentations. Thanks to volunteers from our community, students hear firsthand from professionals about their careers, daily responsibilities, and the pathways that led them to where they are today.

So far, we’ve welcomed an incredible lineup of presenters, and we would like to extend our gratitude to:

  • Preston Schmitz – Retired Air Force

  • Kevin Wiley – Financial Advisor

  • Jesse Peters – Information Technology

  • Sharon Burns – Communications and Marketing

  • David Haynes – GM Warehousing / Retired Army

  • Megan Bone – Instructional Designer

  • Dr. Jennifer Kolb – Principal

During these sessions, presenters share insights such as what a typical day looks like, the education and skills needed for their profession, and what they enjoy most about their work. Students also have the chance to ask questions like: “What do you know now that you wish you knew during school?” or “What advice do you have for students?”

This program has been made possible through the hard work of Mrs. Becky Wecas, LMS Counselor, who is committed to bringing career exploration opportunities directly to our students.

We still have many spots left to fill, and we’d love for more community members to get involved. If you’re interested in sharing your career story with our middle schoolers, please sign up here: Career Fair Signup
