Students in our Repertory Theatre class recently immersed themselves in the fascinating world of historical stage makeup! Under the guidance of theatre teacher Sarah DaMetz, students explored how makeup can reflect the different time periods and cultures.
Several students even drew inspiration from their own family heritage:
Joey Humbard recreated dramatic looks from the Edo period in Japan, showcasing the elegance and precision of traditional Japanese theatre.
Ava Valdez took on the vibrant and symbolic styles of the Aztecs.
Lilly Banister embraced the ornate sophistication of 18th-century France.
This creative exercise allowed students to step into history while also honoring their personal cultural connections.
