Brandi Atha

Lansing USD 469 is proud to recognize Ms. Brandi Atha as our Staff Member of the Month.

Brandi’s colleagues describe her as a thoughtful peer and an outstanding teacher who makes everyone and everything around her better. Whether she is adding a little sparkle to the school environment, decorating hallways and bathrooms, or offering a helping hand to colleagues, Brandi’s positivity and dedication shine through.

Her nomination reads:

“Brandi Atha would be a very deserving recipient of recognition by the board. She is a very thoughtful peer and teacher. She plays an integral part of making everything and everyone around her better whether it be adding a little sparkle to the environment around her, decorating the hall and bathrooms, or providing her colleagues with a helping hand when they need assistance. Ms. Atha is an expert in her content area and executes lessons that are rigorous, relevant, and connected to standards. She works well with special educators and paraprofessionals to deliver the services that our most vulnerable students need while challenging those that have that need, as well. She holds students to high standards and enables them be successful in her classroom by her clear instruction. She is very organized and creative. Her room is neat, warm, and inviting, making it a pleasant place for students to learn. She is in relentless pursuit of excellence. Ms. Atha is very thorough and consistent in her classroom practices and uses humor in instruction. In her lesson delivery, she is methodical and uses scaffolding tools to help students work through larger written tasks. She also uses humor and real-world examples with which students can relate, making her classroom style one in which all students are welcomed and can learn.”

We congratulate Mrs. Atha on this well-deserved honor and thank her for the many ways she enriches the lives of Lansing students and staff.
