Hanaa Everett and Danielle Edwards

The Lansing Education Association (LEA) continues its tradition of supporting future educators by awarding two $750 scholarships to Lansing High School graduates who are pursuing careers in education. This annual scholarship is generously funded by teachers in the Lansing School District as a way to encourage and invest in the next generation of educators.

This year’s scholarship recipients are Danielle Edwards and Hanaa Everett. Both graduates will begin their student teaching assignments this fall as they complete their degrees.

Danielle Edwards, a member of the Lansing High School Class of 2021, is currently attending William Jewell College. She will be completing her student teaching in a second-grade classroom in Kansas City, Missouri.

Hanaa Everett, a 2022 Lansing High School graduate, is enrolled at the University of Kansas. She will conduct her student teaching in a third-grade classroom in the Shawnee Mission School District.

The Lansing Education Association is proud to support these outstanding alumni as they take the final steps toward becoming educators.
