Sixteen members of the Lansing High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheer Squad brought home multiple awards after attending the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA) camp held July 18 - 20 in Topeka, Kansas.
The team’s hard work earned them third place overall in both the Camp Routine and Game Day Routine categories. They were also recognized with the coveted Spirit Stick on all three days of camp.
Three cheerleaders were selected as UCA All-Americans: Peyton Bachtel, Jadyn Bollin, and Payton Wheeler. In addition, senior Jadyn Bollin received the Pin-It-Forward honor from UCA staff, which is given to individuals who exemplify leadership and kindness. Teammates Nevaeh Clayton, Hannah Laps, and Loeghan McTeague were also pinned by athletes from other teams, a meaningful recognition from their peers.
Senior team members shared personal reflections about their camp experience, highlighting growth they experienced together.
“UCA Camp 2025 brought new connections with the team. I enjoyed the stunting portion, making new memories and learning new skills,” said Peyton Bachtel.
“This year’s cheer camp was unforgettable. We learned so much and overcame challenges with positive attitudes and perseverance. I am so proud of our team for learning two routines in less than three days,” said Jadyn Bollin.
“I loved getting to see how much we all improved in such a short amount of time, and it was also great to see all of us bond and grow closer as a team!” said Cienna Johnson.
Congratulations to our Lansing High Cheerleaders for representing our school community with pride, talent, and heart!
