On May 28, Lansing USD469’s MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) team came together for a full-day session focused on student data, instructional practices, and ways to strengthen support systems across the district.
Led by Director of Teaching and Learning, Miles Azzeh, the meeting brought together educators and administrators from every school to take a deep dive into Fastbridge assessment results, review intervention protocols, and share strategies that are working well in classrooms. The overall goal? Making sure all students receive the right level of support, especially through strong Tier 1 instruction.
One highlight of the day came from Lansing Middle School interventionist Dee Wiley, who shared a presentation on math vertical progression. She walked the group through how consistent strategies from kindergarten through eighth grade can build a stronger foundation for students and help close learning gaps over time.
The team also had the opportunity to learn from Katie Morrow, a national Apple Learning Specialist, who led a hands-on session on built-in iPad tools that support student learning. Staff explored accessibility features, augmented reality, and creative ways to use technology to differentiate instruction and boost engagement.
