LKSF Recipients

Lansing High School reached an exciting milestone this spring as the Lansing Kansas Scholarship Fund, Inc. (LKSF) surpassed $1 million in total scholarships awarded since its founding in 1987. This year alone, 49 Lansing High School graduates were selected as scholarship recipients, bringing the cumulative total awarded to more than $1,034,000.

More than 850 LHS graduates have benefited from this generous community-based scholarship program, which was founded by former counselor and coach Earl Johnsmeyer, along with his wife Irene, a fellow educator at Lansing High School.

The fund began with just two memorial scholarships in honor of Frank R. Graham and Irene Johnsmeyer. Today, LKSF has grown to include several additional memorial scholarships, all supporting graduating seniors in their pursuit of higher education, whether through college or vocational training.

Each scholarship is represented by a member of the LKSF Board of Directors, and the organization operates as a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Contributions to the fund are tax-deductible and welcomed year-round, directly supporting Lansing High School graduates as they take their next steps toward the future.
