Answer: 8 years

Question: Can you tell us a bit about yourself and the role you have within the school district?

Answer:  I am married with two little ones that keep me busy when I am not at school or coaching. I teach 7th grade social studies and literature for LMS and coach the offensive line for the high school football team. I am also on the positive recognition committee and emergency action team for LMS.

Question: What do you enjoy most about your role and the work you do in the school district?

Answer: I enjoy helping students/athletes see the growth they make when they utilize their potential and work hard, especially when it leads to personal and team success.

Question: When you're not working, what hobbies or activities do you enjoy?

Answer:  Spending time with friends and family, playing with my kids, watching sports or true crime documentaries, and reading (when time allows).

Question: What is something unusual about you that most people don't know?

Answer: I spent a year helping manage a food pantry, community garden, and homeless shelter on the south side of Chicago before getting into education.

Question: Could you share a particularly heartwarming or memorable experience you've had while working with students or colleagues?

Answer: My first year teaching was in 5th grade. Letting those students know that I would be moving to the middle school with them was very memorable. Going undefeated my last year as the head middle school football coach is a close second.

Question: What piece of advice would you like to offer to students to help them succeed and make the most of their educational journey?

Answer:  You are capable of achieving far more than you think when you work hard and believe in yourself. When in doubt, look around and you will find plenty of people willing to help you achieve your goals.
