Lansing District Food Pantries
In addition to Lion's Pantry that serves Lansing Middle School, Lansing USD 469 has started a new food pantry that serves all families in our district. The new District Food Pantry is located at Lansing Intermediate School and overseen by members of our District Mental Health Team (Janet Farrar, Christine Bachtel, Maggie Peterson, Jake Marshall, and Rebecca Davis).
Lansing Kiwanis is helping collect donations at Dillon's, and our LINCS (Learning Independence in Natural Community Settings) students are helping with sorting the food and filling requests. If you are willing and able to donate to the new District Food Pantry, you can drop off the food items in the blue bins in the elementary, intermediate, and high school main entries.
If you or your family is in need of assistance, please fill out the Google Form below:

Households seeking food assistance have a much easier way to find help thanks to a project supported by the Sunflower Foundation.
A new website - kansasfoodsource.org - is designed to help people in need of food assistance find pantry locations in their areas. The website also features a link for help applying for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)or food stamps, along with a link for current summer food sites for children.
By breaking everything down to the county level, the new website features a mapping tool which allows a resident to see exactly where each pantry is located, along with a contact phone number and any other information available, such as hours of operation or what is needed to access food.
