Lansing Lions Take Second Place at State Forensics!
Congratulations to sponsor Larissa Maranell and our Lansing Lions who competed at the State Forensics competition last weekend. Lansing made their presence felt by taking second place overall in the team sweepstakes.
Our Lansing High School team had several finalists and champions, including Michael Im, who won first place in Lincoln Douglas and second place in International Extemp, and Patrick Wong, who took home first place in Humorous Interp and second place in Program Interp. Other notable performances include Austin Davis, who placed second in Informative and fifth in Lincoln Douglas, and Niklas Schintgen, who placed fifth in Dramatic Interp.
In addition to our finalists and champions, we had several semifinalists who performed exceptionally well. Alyssa Parker in Program Interp, Rachel Schultz in Oration, Nikki Svedarski in Oration, Andresea Prieto & Lexi Ackors in Duo Interp, and Lexi Ackors in Poetry all made it to the semifinals. Lansing broke 14 out of 16 entries to the semifinals!
The team also had several contributors to the team sweeps, with Jackson Jackson and Nikki Svedarsky doing incredible in Informative.
At the State Festival, several team members received superior (1) and excellent (2) ranks for their performances. Katrina Staton in Poetry, Monty White in Dramatic Interp and Poetry, Bayne Yoakam in Program Interp, Grace Estes in Prose, Elliott Pruitt and November Bullard in Duo Interp, November Bullard in Dramatic Interp, Hunter Ringgenberg in Extemporaneous, Melina Rodriguez in Humorous Interp, Adrian Torres, Liam Johnson, and Sarah Hedberg in Informative, and Macaria Hemker in Oration all performed exceptionally well, earning superior ranks. Mari Worley in Dramatic Interp received an excellent (2) rank for her performance.
