Girl Scout Troop 1525 Donates Gross Motor Play Mats and Manipulatives to Parents as Teachers for Bronze Award Project
Girl Scout Troop 1525 donated gross motor play mats and manipulatives to USD 469 Parents as Teachers as part of their Bronze Award. The troop met with Program Coordinator Kelly Faulk and Lead Parent Educator Lisa Hope to learn about the mission and population Parents as Teachers serve. The requirement to be selected as the Bronze project would be that the project would be long-lasting and make a difference in the community. After learning about Parents as Teachers, the troop selected Parents as Teachers to receive the project. The young women raised the money, measured the room, ordered the gross motor mats and manipulatives, and assembled and installed the mats and manipulatives. This generous project replaced the mats over 20 years old and showing their age. The mats will potentially serve over 1,500 children under the age of five. Parents as Teachers is extremely grateful to Troop 1525 for their generous gift. The young women of Troop 1525 have bright futures in our community.
