Lansing School District Welcomes Marty Kobza as New Superintendent
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Marty Kobza as the new Superintendent of Lansing USD469, effective July 2023. Mr. Kobza comes to us from Superior Public Schools in Superior, Nebraska, where he has been serving as the Superintendent.
Mr. Kobza brings over two decades of experience in education to the Lansing School District. Before joining Superior Public Schools, he served as Superintendent in Eudora, Kansas. He was recognized for his exceptional work in education by receiving the Kansas Rural School Outstanding Administrator award. He has also served as Superintendent in Thermopolis and Sheridan County, Wyoming, where he was nominated twice for the Wyoming Superintendent of the Year. During his career, he has helped districts to develop systems to individualize the educational process for students. Mr. Kobza's passion is to help students maximize their potential regardless of their situation.
In a statement about his appointment, Mr. Kobza expressed his excitement about joining the Lansing community:
"I am very grateful to become part of the Lansing USD469 and the Lansing community. During my tours of the district and interview process, I was very impressed with the staff, parents, and leadership throughout the district. Fostering a student-centered environment where our time and resources are utilized to help all students reach their full potential will be our focus as we move forward."
Mr. Kobza is married to Nicke and has five children and two grandchildren.
Lansing USD469 is excited to have Mr. Kobza join the Lansing School District team, and we look forward to him leading us to create an exceptional learning experience for all of our students!
