To be considered, students complete a short essay and a one-page application form, followed by a college contact form in August.
Over the past 36 years, over $830,000 from LKSF Inc. Scholarships has benefited the higher education of Lansing High School graduates!
Established in April 1987 with two scholarships for Frank R. Graham and Irene Johnsmeyer, the Lansing Kansas Scholarship Fund, Inc. is the legacy of Earl Johnsmeyer, former counselor and coach, and his wife Irene, both former teachers at Lansing High School. Over the years, several other memorial scholarships have been added to the Lansing Kansas Scholarship Fund, Inc.. They have assisted hundreds of graduating seniors from Lansing High School with their higher education costs.
Representatives of each scholarship sit on the Board of Directors of the non-profit. All donations are tax-deductible. Contributions are welcome because they ultimately help the graduating seniors of Lansing High School. We hope these special community members' efforts, love of education, and dedication to Lansing schools will live on through these annual scholarships. The Lansing Kansas Scholarship Fund Inc. is a non-profit organization under section 501(c)3 of the United States Internal Revenue Code.
Anyone who might want to set up a Lansing Kansas Scholarship Fund Inc. in honor of a loved one or special teacher should contact Carol Page, Secretary, at 913-240-4184 or Linda Babcock, Chair of LKSF Inc. The fee for setting up a scholarship is $7,000.
