Inspiring a love of learning in a safe and collaborative environment!
September 24, 2022
Dear Families,
This week we had professional development and strategic planning work on Monday, our tornado drill on Thursday and the Prize Patrol visited us Friday to award grants to individual teachers and teams. The Prize Patrol is part of our Lansing Educational Foundation and supports innovative grants ideas designed to enhance teaching and learning.
Next week is homecoming at our high school. Our district-wide spirit day schedule is attached. We will also start our fall fundraiser. Proceeds from the fundraiser go towards our (K-5) PTA. The PTA supports programs at Lansing Elementary School and Lansing Intermediate School. Please look for information in Friday folders and book bags about the upcoming fundraiser. If you are interested in joining our PTA, please go to https://lansingpta.memberhub.co
We continued reading and math interventions this week as part of our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support program. Students who are receiving math and/or reading interventions will be progress monitored to determine the response to intervention. More information about reading and math interventions will be shared at our Title I meeting in October and at Parent-Teacher conferences. If you have any questions regarding the MTSS screening process, interventions or Title 1, please contact Holly Kane (MTSS interventionist) at holly.kane@usd469.net.
This Friday, we will have our first PRIDE assembly of the year. The PRIDE assemblies recognize students who display our PRIDE character traits . The traits we are celebrating are Perseverance, Respect, Responsibility, Resiliency, Integrity, Diligence, Empathy, and Excellence. Please look for more information to be communicated by your classroom teacher.
