Lansing High School Robotics Class 2021-2022 School Year Recap (VIDEO)
Robotics is a year-long course at Lansing High School and is the second course in the Engineering and Applied Mathematics Career and Technical Education Pathway.
During this course, students develop skills and knowledge to design and develop robotic devices. The course uses VEX V5 robots (provided by an LEF grant in 2020). Students work in small groups to build and program robots. Students often start with block coding before transitioning to text coding with sensors.
Students also work with Arduinos. An Arduino is a small programmable circuit board or microcontroller that can use various input and output devices.
Students were asked to demonstrate their knowledge of programming and the utilization of sensors and machine responses to data for their second-semester final. They had the option to create a video tutorial, program the robot, or create a project with the Arduino.
