Kindergarteners Learn Phonics while Hunting for Eggs
Kindergarteners had a blast searching for eggs on the front lawn of Lansing Elementary School on Thursday, April 14th. Parents and staff donated the eggs with words written on each of them. Students were tasked with finding the eggs and reading the words to an adult before collecting the eggs to keep. Teachers elicited volunteers to help make the event a success. Each student could receive a certain number of eggs, and students had to count them when they were done.
Lansing USD 469 school board member Amy Cawvey, Superintendent Dan Wessel, School Resources Officer Leif French, parents, and others helped students sound out the words and count their eggs.
Kudos to the LES kindergarten teachers who have worked hard all year to assure their Easter Egg Sight Hunt was a success!
