Lansing USD 469 is proud to highlight our Lansing High School students and graduates enrolled in Kansas City Kansas Community Center Pioneer Career Center (KCKCC PCC) each week.
This week's update covers HVAC and Culinary.
Trimming and Cutting a Steak from a Strip Loin
Culinary students learned how to trim a strip loin and cut steaks from a loin. Culinary students used a knife technique to cut the perfect steak.

Kimchi
Culinary students made cabbage, cucumber, and radish kimchi. Kimchi is a Korean side dish of salted and fermented vegetables. A wide selection of seasonings is used, including gochugaru (chili pepper), spring onions, garlic, ginger, and jeotgal (salted seafood).

Personnel Lift
HVAC students learned about safety and operational procedures on a personnel lift. Students were able to practice the proper way to wear a harness, latch a lift door, secure a harness to a lift and maneuver a lift up and down.
