Lansing High School Health Class Learns Dangers of Human Trafficking from Guest Speaker from KS Attorney General's Office
Our Lansing High School health classes had a visit from Jennifer Montgomery with the Kansas Attorney General's Office on March 9th to learn about human trafficking. The visit was made possible by health teachers Jackie Sells and Lindsay Zych and our School Resources Officer, Leif French. Ms. Montgomery discussed what Human Trafficking is and, despite misconceptions, that it can and does happen here in Kansas. Our youth are especially vulnerable because of their naivety.
"We would like to thank Ms. Montgomery for her time and willingness to speak to our students about the dangers of human trafficking," said Officer French. "I also would like to thank Ms. Sells and Ms. Zych for seeing the need for this training and being proactive to get students accurate and up-to-date information. The Lansing Police Department supports the district in any way we can for sharing this information with our youth because we find it incredibly beneficial."
Lansing USD469 would also like to thank Officer French for reaching out to the Kansas Juvenile Officer's Association (KSJOA), for which he is a member, to get this set up.
