December 2021 Transportation Department Employee Spotlight - Sam Bryant
As part of the monthly report to our Board of Education, Transportation Director Jim Slapper includes an employee spotlight. We are excited also to be featuring these employees on our website and social media.
For December 2021, Mr. Slapper is featuring Mr. Sam Bryant.
"Sam is 68 years old and has lived in our community for over 35 years. Sam was in the US Army for nine years. After his military career ended, Sam went to work for the VA. He worked in the VA food service for 30 years. After Sam retired from the VA, he began looking for a part-time job and decided to try driving a school bus. Sam has been driving a school bus for 13 years and has been driving for USD 469 for the last ten years.
Sam currently drives a Special Needs Bus and says he finds it rewarding to give these students the extra care they need.
In Sam’s spare time, he is a minister at the Kingdom Harvest Church."
If you see Mr. Bryant driving one of our buses, be sure to thank him for his outstanding work in Lansing USD469!
