Mrs. Beall's Kindergarten Class Learns about Farming and Ranching through CommonGround Kansas
Lansing USD 469 would like to thank Natalie Hoagland with J&N Ranch for visiting Mrs. Beall's kindergarten class on Friday, October 22nd, to teach the students about ranching and farming.
Mrs. Hoagland taught the students about her family's ranch and read Pod to Plate by Julie D. Blunier. Each student received a copy of the book to keep.
To be selected, teachers filled out an application to have a farmer Zoom into their classroom to share what it is like to be a farmer and rancher. Approximately 100 applications were submitted, and Mrs. Beall's class was one of twenty that were selected.
Mrs. Hoagland's visit was made possible by CommonGround Kansas, which "is a national movement of farm women who want to share information about farming and the food we grow. CommonGround Kansas is brought to you by the farmers of the Kansas Corn Commission and the Kansas Soybean Commission."
