Lansing High School Robotics Class Visits Science City In Preparation for Battle of the Brains Competition
Mrs. Anne Krebs's Robotics class is currently working on project proposals for Battle of the Brains, a program sponsored by Burns & McDonnell and Science City. Battle of the Brains is a STEM competition where "metro area schools can earn a piece of $155,000-plus in grants for STEM education by dreaming up an exhibit concept for Science City." The winning team will have their idea come to life as an exhibit at Science City.
Mrs. Krebs and Lansing High School Gifted Facilitator Julie Hinckley took the Robotics class to Science City to research the current exhibits and improve their class proposals.
Students attending the field trip found it to be incredibly beneficial.
- "It was good that we went because we can visualize what the exhibit would look like and how it would fit in that area." Conor Lessard
- "Having a day to have fun while learning was a great change of pace." Nathaniel Mack
- "I really enjoyed it. It gave me insight on good exhibits and not good exhibits." James Umbarger
