We are very pleased and excited to share with you that we will be offering a new opportunity for students and families to choose a virtual learning option for the 2021-2022 school year.
We recently partnered with a Kansas Education Service Center called Greenbush, which specializes in providing virtual learning, and we are excited to share the following with you. If you choose to participate in the Lansing USD 469 Greenbush Virtual Academy next year, your student and your family will remain a part of the lion pride family. This is very important to us because, in the past, students often had to un-enroll from our school and district in order to participate in a virtual learning option. Other details include:
-
The Lansing USD 469 Greenbush Virtual Academy offers options for students in grades K-12.
-
Our curriculum in grades K-5 will be provided through Florida Virtual School (FLVS). This curriculum meets local school district requirements and is aligned to Kansas Standards.
-
Our curriculum in grades 6-12 will be provided through Edgenuity. This curriculum meets local school district requirements and is aligned to Kansas Standards.
-
-
Each Lansing USD 469 Greenbush Virtual Academy teacher is appropriately licensed for their assigned grade-levels and/or content areas.
-
Academic Coaches will be assigned to each student and family for progress monitoring and regular contact.
-
Each student will have an Individual Plan of Study to ensure proper pacing, progress, and growth.
-
Laptops are available for student use upon request through Greenbush.
-
Counseling services will be offered through the school district as needed.
Delivery of and access to our virtual curriculum will be primarily asynchronous (recorded and accessed by students and families through on-demand modules) with access to the curriculum available on a 24/7 basis. Additionally, synchronous (live) supports via Zoom will be available at specified times on a weekly basis. We do want to be clear that virtual learning does rely on families to guide and direct their child(ren) through the curriculum with our support. In other words, students will not attend a full daily schedule of live, teacher-led virtual instruction.
We hope that we can visit with you soon to see if you have any questions about this opportunity for 2021-2022 or if we can assist you in any way for the rest of the 2020-2021 school year. Please contact your child’s school if you have any questions or would like more information.
