Weekly Update of Lansing High School Students Enrolled in KCKCC Pioneer Classes - Electrical and Culinary
Lansing High School students enrolled in Electrical and Culinary classes through Kansas City Kansas Community College Pioneer Career Center (KCKCC PCC) finished the month of April strong with a productive week!
Wiring
Electrical students Zane McDougal, Alexander Russell, Benjamin Stephen, Liam Zell, and Colin Garner practiced wiring light switches on their wiring boards. After practicing on the boards, the students replicated the wiring in the residential construction setting in the lab.
In the Culinary Department, Lansing High School student, Anamaria Gonzalez, made the following breakfast items:
Japanese Pancakes
Miss Gonzalez made fluffy Japanese pancakes with fresh whipped cream. These pancakes are thick like little souffles: custardy on the inside and golden and crispy on the outside.
Foods I/International cooking students also made the roses.

Frittata
Miss Gonzalez and the Foods I/International Cooking students made a spinach Canadian bacon and potato frittata. The frittata was originated in Italy by using items they had on hand.
Oatmeal and Grits
Miss Gonzalez made buttery caramel oatmeal and creamy cheesy grits. Oatmeal became
popular in Scotland and came to North America in the
17th century. Grits are boiled cornmeal seasoned in many
ways and originated in Native America
