Lansing High School Choirs Set New Standard at Solo Contest
Congratulations to our Lansing High School Choirs for their performance at the 2021 Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) Solo Contest!
From LHS Director of Choral Activities, Mr. Brian White:
"We are pleased to announce the outstanding results of our LHS singers at KSHSAA Solo Contest this year! We had 18 soloists prepare two standard vocal contest pieces and perform them for a judge for a rating of a I - V (I = outstanding, III = average).
Our singers set a new standard this year with 13 'I' ratings from our soloists! The remaining performers had a rating of 'II' defined as 'excellent'!
I could not be more proud of the work the students have done this year amidst change and uncertainty. The process has been a great teachable moment for them and is validation that success can still be achieved in less than ideal circumstances. They put in a lot of time with me on their literature, but ultimately, they were self-motivated enough to put in individual time and work to hone their craft. These students took it upon themselves to ensure their success."
A huge congratulations to the following LHS Choirs members:
