Congratulations to our Lansing High School Band for their Performance at the KSHSAA State Festival!
Congratulations to our Lansing High School Band for having an impressive showing at the KSHSAA State Festival! The Lansing High School band had a total of 35 solos and small ensembles, earning 18 - 1 ratings and 17 - 2 ratings.
"For the first time in school history our Symphonic Band received a 1 rating," said Band Director, Mr. Aaron Edwards. "The Wind Ensemble, once again, earned straight 1 ratings from all 3 judges. We are super proud of how far the students have come this year. The safety protocols the bands have to follow are a challenge but these students have given their all and continue to play at a high level."
Mr Edwards also shared a quote from one of the judges, Dr. Frank Tracz, who is Director of Bands at Kansas State University:
'VERY well done, band! You should be proud of your performance as it was musically and technically satisfying! Hang tuff, stay safe, we will get through this pandemic challenge. BRAVO!'
Lansing High School Band will be having their Spring Band Concert, in person, on Wednesday, April 28.
"This will be only open to family members of the bands, but we are excited to share the talents of our young musicians!" said Mr. Edwards. "After that, we have our Extreme Percussion Show and Spring Jazz Concert, both in May and will follow the same spectator protocols as the Spring Band Concert. We are looking forward to more “normal” performances and a return of our awesome MARCHING LIONS in the fall!"
Wonderful work, Mr. Edwards and the Lansing High School Band!
