Congratulations to Lansing Alumni, Caroline Crawford, For Being Named Big 12 Rookie of the Week for the Third Time!
Lansing graduate, Caroline Crawford, has had an excellent start to her volleyball career at the University of Kansas and has received numerous accolades as a freshman. Caroline was recently named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. According to the KU Athletics website, she was named Rookie of the Week after playing two matches against Arkansas State. She "registered 20 kills through the two matches while adding 11 blocks. She finished with 29.5 points and average 4.9 points per set."
In addition to being a third time Big 12 Rookie of the Week recipient, Caroline was also the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week on March 17, 2021, named to the All-Big 12 First Team, and unanimously selected to the Rookie Team. She finished her first year "with 180 kills on 409 attempts, while leading the Jayhawks with 108 total blocks. She averaged 1.26 blocks per set, while also averaging 2.09 kills per set."
As a Lansing Lion, Caroline was named 2019 Kansas 5A State Player of the Year, Three-time 1st Team All Conference, Three-time 1st Team All District, Three-time All Academic State, and Three-time All State selection.
