Board of Education Meeting Recap - Monday, April 12, 2021 (Regular Meeting)
The following items were discussed and / or voted on during our regular Board of Education meeting on Monday, April 12, 2021:

The board voted on and approved the 2021-2022 Apple iPad Purchase Proposal.

Superintendent Dan Wessel presented the Projected Year End cash balances.

The BOE voted and approved Lansing Educational Foundation; Emergency Preparedness; Technology; and Facility, Grounds & Maintenance reports.

The BOE voted and approved all Administrative Reports.

Transportation Director Jimmy Slapper presented the Transportation Proposal for the 2021-2022 School Year. The board voted on and approved a household registration fee of $25.00 for families who sign up for bussing seven days prior to the first day of school. The household registration fee will be $35.00 after that seven-day window. Free and reduced students who are eligible for transportation ride free.

The board voted on and approved the following schedule for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year:

Grades Kindergarten - 5 will be returning to a five day (Monday - Friday) in-person schedule starting this week. All in-person students through grade five will be learning on-site this Friday, April 16, 2021.

Early Childhood has no change in schedule.

Students in grades 6 - 12 will be in-person Monday – Thursday. Fridays will be teacher collaboration days, and teachers will be available to meet with students who need assistance on Fridays.

Remote students will continue to be able to learn virtually.

The last day of school for all students has been moved up to Thursday, May 27, 2021.

Monday, April 26, 2021 will remain a Professional Development day, and there will be no school for students.

Friday, May 28, 2021 will be a teacher work day.

Superintendent Dan Wessel explained why Lansing USD 469 will continue to have mask requirement. This is to eliminate the need to quarantine large numbers of students and/ or staff due to close contacts.
