Congratulations to LHS students, Emalee Litewski & Katie Short, for Being "Virtual Business Challenge Personal Finance" Qualifiers!
Emalee Litewski (Team Lansing 1) and Katie Short (Team Lansing 2) are competing in the Virtual Business Challenge (VBC) through Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA).
"Last week we found out they were VVBC Round 2 National Winners," said FCCLA sponsor, Ms. Stephanie Merritt.
"Lansing is the only school in Kansas to qualify."
Both girls started the Finals Round of VBC on Monday, March 22nd and will complete the round on Friday, March 26th. FCCLA is the co-curricular organization in which Lansing is affiliated with for the Hospitality and Tourism Pathway.
Ms. Merrit is incredibly proud of the girls and the work they have put into this competition. "Having worked with these young ladies in other organizations, I knew their desire to compete this year was something that would keep their spirit alive, and it worked! They are off to a great start with having secured $500,000+ in the simulation as of Wednesday morning, compared to the $27,000+ that was secured to make it to the finals."
Good luck Emalee and Katie!
