Lansing High School’s chapter of National English Honor Society, “Pen N’ Paw”, recently organized and collected letters to send to healthcare workers. These letters are part of an effort to thank those healthcare workers for their hard work over the past year during the COVID-19 pandemic. They were written by Lansing High School students.
NEHS, sponsored by English teacher Ms. Kinyon, collected and wrote appreciation letters in the month of February. The organization collected nearly 100 letters and cards which have been sent to a few local hospitals, including Children's Mercy Hospital.
Allison Muzzy (Jr.), President of NEHS, says of the project: “I thought this project would be a good way to combine the goals of NEHS and send a positive message in hard times. I was very excited about this project and glad there was much participation within the school. I’m very proud of the group and hope we can do projects like this in the future.”
Thank you for all who participated and an even bigger thank you to those whom these letters are dedicated to!
