First Round of COVID-19 Vaccines Given to Lansing USD 469 Staff
Lansing USD 469 staff were given the opportunity to receive the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on Wednesday, February 3rd thanks to Leavenworth County Health Department. The district sent a survey to all staff members and substitutes in January to get a headcount of individuals that would be receiving the vaccine. A total of 342 staff members signed up and came to Lansing Middle School to receive the vaccine on February 3rd.
"Thank you to the health department for coming to help vaccinate our staff," said Superintendent Dan Wessel. "The ability to offer this event at Lansing Middle School helped to vaccinate a large percentage of our staff in a short amount of time. Our community has come together over the last six months to help keep our kids in school, and this vaccination event is another step to help."
The Leavenworth County Health Department will return to our district in four weeks to administer the second dose of the vaccine.
