Lansing High School Student, Keilah Umbarger, Creates Police Agency in KCKCC Criminal Justice Class
Lansing High School senior, Keilah Umbarger, has been busy in her KCKCC PCC Criminal Justice Class since the new semester started in January. In her Law Enforcement Operations course, Keilah and other students will learn about all of the facets of policing, including many not thought about by the general public. As they learn about hiring and training, emergency management, legal restrictions and responsibilities, and many other topics, the students will be applying their knowledge to create their very own police agency. They will use the Pioneer Career Center as their physical structure and decide what services are required, how they will operate (internally and externally), the needs of each service, and how they should be placed in the police station.
