Mrs. Holden's Fourth Grade Class Has a Blast with Pie Project Before Thanksgiving Break
Mrs. Holden’s class spent the morning before Thanksgiving break completing a math project with pies.
"Parents donated and we bought 8 different kinds of pies from the amazing Hilltop Market in Easton," said Mrs. Holden. "We tasted each pie and every student had to rank their pie preferences on a scale from worst to the best. We then graphed our results and the students created their own math problems using the data."
The class tested pumpkin, cherry, gooseberry, apple, coconut cream, banana cream, chocolate cream, and Oreo cream pies.
"It was a close race for worst, but cherry just edged out gooseberry." The overwhelming favorite was Oreo cream pie.
"Thanks goes out to parents who donated and for Hilltop Market giving a discount to us because it was for a school. I was proud of the kids masking up when they were not actively eating and the amazing math problems they created."
Wonderful work, Mrs. Holden and students!
