Fifth Grade Students in Mrs. Trowbridge's Class Donate Socks to Those in Need
Each year, Mrs. Delia Trowbridge has her class participate in some sort of community service project. This year, she decided to have her students donate over 300 pairs of socks to our local homeless shelter, since socks are the most needed and the least donated item. She made it the mission of her class to help as many homeless people in the Lansing / Leavenworth area have warm feet this winter.
"I always do some sort of community service project with my class," said Mrs. Trowbridge. "When I heard how low our homeless shelter was on socks and that they are the most needed Item, I talked with Scarlett, my daughter, and my students, and we decided to start collecting as many as we could. Our goal was 100 pairs of socks, and we exceeded that and have donated over 340 pairs of socks as of today! I am so proud of them!"
Wonderful job, Mrs. Trowbridge and students!
