Third Grade Classes Take Virtual Field Trips Around the United States
Third grade students have been learning about the importance of preserving our national parks, landmarks, and monuments this week through virtual field trips around the country.
"We have been studying argumentative text in Reading over the past few weeks," said Mrs. Christina Mills. "Students have read selections about if we should preserve national parks, landmarks, and monuments, or if we should use those spaces for things like new homes or businesses. We went on a virtual field trip and explored several parks, monuments, and landmarks. Students wrote about why parks, landmarks, and monuments are important to telling our country’s story, and why they should be preserved. We “visited” the Statue of Liberty, Arches National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, Gateway Arch, Mesa Verde’s Cliff Dwellings, giant sequoia’s in the Giant Forest, Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, and the National Mall!"
