Lansing High School Recognized as KSHSAA Performing Arts School of Excellence Award Finalist!
Congratulations to Lansing High School for being chosen as one of two high schools in Kansas to receive recognition as a 2020 Performing Arts School of Excellence by the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA)!
According to the recognition letter from the Kansas State High School Activities Association:
"In 2018, the KSHSAA created the Kansas State High School Activities Association Performing Arts School of Excellence Award which is modeled from the NFHS National Award. This award is a way to celebrate the performing arts through the tremendous work of our school districts, high schools, performing arts departments, directors, coaches, sponsors, parents and of course our wonderful students."
A committee of six individuals representing the Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA), the Kansas Speech Communication Association (KSCA), and the Kansas Thespians met in July 2020 to discuss high schools that scored exceptionally high in debate, speech, music, and theater. They selected two high schools to be recognized with a certificate from KSHSAA - Lansing was selected as the Finalist and Sterling High School was selected as the winner.
