Superintendent's Secretary, Jan Zoellner, celebrates 45 years with Lansing USD469
Lansing USD 469 has been incredibly lucky to have Mrs. Jan Zoellner as part of our family over the past 45 years. Mrs. Zoellner started as a kindergarten aid in 1975 in the Delaware school on Highway 5. Over the summers, she would help at the district office, until she was hired as the Superintendent Secretary in 1980. She has worked for twelve different superintendents during her time in this position.
As anyone who has had the privilege to work with Jan over the last 45 years would say, "To know Jan, is to love Jan."
Below are some comments from staff that have worked with Jan:
"Way back in March of 1991, I applied for a position as vice principal at Lansing Middle School. Luckily, I was able to ascertain an interview. On the day of the interview, the first person I met was Jan Zoellner. Her smile and sweet disposition helped calm my nerves. Somehow I got the job and thus began my relationship with one of the kindest ladies I have ever known. She has saved my backside many times over the years when I haven’t turned in my monthly principal report or was on my high horse about something. She is also good natured and has endured my goofy pranks when I’m sure she wanted to knock me into tomorrow. I consider it an honor to call Jan my good friend. Jan, I love you." - Kerry Brungardt.
"It has been an honor to work with Jan throughout my time in Lansing. I owe her more than can be repaid for the advice, guidance and happiness she brings to myself and the district everyday. I strive to try to make my interactions daily a little more “Jan Like.” Thank you for all the years and I look forward to many more." - Superintendent Dan Wessel
"What can I say about Jan? Her presence is so warm, inviting, soothing, and sweet. I always look forward to seeing her beautiful face and radiant smile whenever I see her. Congratulations of your amazing career. We have been a blessed district to have you all this time!" - Jen Leitsch
"Jan was the very first person I met when I started in 1990. She has always been so sweet and gone out of her way to help me, from day 2 until now. She always has a smile and know exactly what we need, even sometimes before it comes out of our mouths or emails. I am so proud that she has served Lansing all these years and raised an amazing family as well! Love her to pieces!❤️" - Lynda Schimke
"She is so kind and welcoming. ❤️Happy 45 th year in our district." - Barb Robinson
